If creating feature walls is new to you, there are a few guidelines to bear in mind. First and foremost, choose your location carefully. Feature walls should never be random. Identify your room’s existing focal point, and use the feature wall to highlight this. The idea is to draw the eye to one area. So, if your feature wall is “competing” with another focal feature (TV wall or fireplace, for example) this will dilute its impact.
